Marcel Agena is a Senior Consultant in Sphera's Strategic Advisory Services Team, specializing in sustainability strategy and reporting, including CSRD-aligned transition plans. He brings over five years of experience in sustainability management, gained both in corporate settings and through consulting engagements. Marcel’s core expertise lies in developing sustainability strategies—both from his time as a sustainability manager and through supporting numerous clients in crafting their own strategic roadmaps. In addition to strategy development, he has extensive experience in sustainability reporting across national, European, and international standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, CSRD). He is also highly proficient in carbon accounting in line with all GHG Protocol standards, as well as in Net Zero target setting and decarbonization lever assessments. Prior to joining Sphera, Marcel worked as a Senior Consultant for a strategy & management consultancy and served for several years as a sustainability manager at a publicly listed, globally operating seed production company.
